INTRODUCTION

Accessible Baseball Pro is a full baseball simulator with real time
voice narration. It is designed to be played one hundred percent
with the keyboard, with no need to see the screen. It works with
NVDA, JAWS, Windows Narrator or with the system's built-in voice.

GAME MODES

Quick game. A single match against any team. You can choose home
or away and the length of 3, 5, 7 or 9 innings.

Career mode. You pick a team and play season after season. The
game tracks your schedule, your stats and your standings.

Championship series. Best of 5 or best of 7 playoffs.

Home Run Derby. Pure batting mode with home run rounds.

Practice field. Train your players between games.

BATTING SYSTEM

When it's your turn at bat you hear the pitcher's throw with a
sound that travels from the mound to the plate. You must press the
spacebar at the exact moment the ball reaches the plate. Timing
determines the result.

Before each pitch you can choose your approach with Enter:

Contact. More chance of making contact, less power.
Balanced. Middle ground.
Power. More home runs possible, more swing-and-misses.
Bunt. Sacrifice to advance the runner.

If you misread the pitch you can press L to let it go.

PITCHING SYSTEM

As pitcher you pick the pitch type and the strike zone. Your
control and velocity affect where the ball ends up. Fatigue cuts
your effectiveness if you've thrown a lot.

Keys 1 to 9 pick the strike zone, 0 throws outside the zone as
deception.

Press Space to throw.

Press C to have the catcher suggest a pitch.

Press I to issue an intentional walk.

BASE STEALS

Runners attempt to steal based on their speed. Steal defense is
resolved automatically: your catcher throws and the infielder
covering the base receives. The outcome depends on the defense
attributes of your players, not on user reaction.

If your runner attempts a steal you hear the play narrated.

BASE RUNNING

When you bat and there's an extra-base decision, the game asks if
you want to keep running. Press S for yes or N to stop at base.
If you stop at base you hear the slide sound as the runner brakes.

Double plays, fly outs with tag up, catches, errors and base
extensions are all implemented with realistic probabilities based
on player attributes.

IN-GAME SHORTCUTS

T. Whose turn is it?
C. Base state.
E. Inning and scoreboard summary.
I. Your lineup and next batter.
S. Stats for the player at bat.
F5. Lower music volume.
F6. Raise music volume.
Escape. Pause menu.

PRACTICE FIELD

When you open the practice field you see the roster sorted by
training need. Players with clear weaknesses appear first. Players
already complete appear at the bottom marked as not needing
training.

Each player has a recommended drill based on their weakness.

For batters:
Contact, batting cage.
Power, weight room.
Speed, sprints.
Defense, defense drills with coach.
Discipline, video room.

For pitchers:
Control, bullpen session.
Velocity, velocity program.
Stuff, secondary pitch.
Stamina, long toss.

Each drill builds up fatigue. Overtraining a player can cause an
injury. The option "Start new training day, all players are fresh"
resets accumulated fatigue.

Players age. At 33 they enter transition. At 36 they enter veteran
status with slower progress.

CAREER AND STATS

Every season counts. Your individual stats accumulate over your
career: home runs, hits, RBIs, pitcher wins, strikeouts.

Saved games (classic or tournament) are kept in separate slots, all
encrypted. Your progress is yours alone.

PLAYER DATA

Installed version. Data is saved to %APPDATA%\Accessible_Baseball_Pro.

the executable. The presence of portable.flag activates this mode.
